So if I can get a carb rebuild kit and an on/off petcock, I should be headed in the right direction. Yes? Again, my experience with this machine (and two strokes in general) is limited at best.

What would I do with the vacuum tube w an on/off petcock? Does it serve a purpose with that ****?

So carb rebuild kit and petcock with an on/off switch. What would I do with the vacuum hose off the carb?

Ok. 10 pm as promised. Spark=constant blue. Thanks lt80pilot.
Took off all plastics. Blew out EVERY connection. Used dielectric grease on all connections.
Started her up.
Took 10 good starts (of about 5 seconds each start). Again, I know that's not good for the starter. Whatever.
Fired up. No noticeable difference. Except I started in the RUN position with NO CHOKE and full throttle. Did not go to PRIME position. And... No puddle.
My carb kit is coming Thursday. I have until then to search for a good petcock. ANY SUGGEsTIONS?
PRAYING a carb kit and a petcock will take the years away from my little guy and we can ride on Friday. This is killing both of us.
Thank you SO much lt80 and lt80pilot!

Also you could shut off the gas and let it run for a min or two to run the float bowl out. Always makes for easier starting especially when running mix

That port off the carb for the petcock can just be plugged with a short piece of hose with a screw in it, maybe with a lil RTV sealant to ensure it's does seal. I was going to J-B weld it shut (like I did with the oil injection port) but I will probably go back to an OEM petcock if that ON-OFF-RES petcock turns out to be trouble. I think my 9 year old is going to forget to turn it off after each ride.

Hopefully your son can get a lot of hours on it before you have to do the ring job to fix the compression, prob being just a tad slower can't hurt when he's only 4. Take care

Lt80pilot. What are the chances I leave the **** stock and put the on/off switch after the **** and before the carb? Will the fuel switch work there?

Yeah, I believe that's what LT80 was saying, but the valve between the petcock and the carb.

I believe you just leave it on PRI (prime). As long as fuel is coming out when you turn the valve to ON, you are good.
