Default 2006 lt80

I might be checking out a 2006 LT80 tonight. Is there anything that I should look out for in particular?

Engine cases..Look for cracks. Mostly by the front sprocket but check out the complete motor.
The frame tubes can crack. These tubes run up and down beside the air filter housing.
That's about it.

It followed me home tonight. It seems to be in pretty good condition.

I need to do some research to determine what mods are suggested for trail riding.

The first thing I have to do is replace the throttle limiter. The previous owner had lost it. Any idea what size the screw is so I can stop by lowes tomorrow?

Here's the new little quadsport sitting next to my quadsport restoration project.

Just one day and it's already muddy.

Mods?
Wider is better.
As far as motor, I'd let the rider get used to the machine before much else is done.

What's a good way to make it wider? I thought I read that you could flip the wheels around. I tried that but the valve stems would hit the brake lines.

Also, I use the following oil in my boat:
AMSOIL hp Injector Synthetic 2-Cycle Oil

Can I use that in the lt80 injection system?

They make spacers for the LT. You can make your own.
You can flip the rear wheels.
Once spacers are utilized, you can flip the fronts.

Oil is fine IMO.

I saw those too, but I wonder if they are strong enough. Have you ever seen a failure from one of those?

I also noticed some play in the knuckle. I need to address that before making it wider.

The spacers are fine. I've never heard of a problem.
You can rebuild the knuckle.
