Well I was trying to move the swing arm and it moves about maybe an 1/8 inch around. Are the back wheels supposed to have play? Not where it connects with the lugnuts but the ... i wanna call it the rotor?

Well looks like i'll be ordering new bearings.. and the wheel is lose because that guy didnt tighting the nuts down all the way... seems like more I work on it the more I find wrong with it lol. Got any suggestions for a good brand? I seen some on ebay from ***** Racing I was thinking about ordering.. they're like $40. I was planning on buying the Versa springs and bolts to replace those on the pressure plate. And did you see the question about lineing up the kick starter? Id hate to put it back together and mess something else up.

First remove the axle from the swingarm. Pull off the the left hub. Remove the sprocket and axle nuts. Slide the axle carrier off. Since the bearings are junk, you can insert a flat head screw driver from the other side and take a hammer and go along the inside lip of the bearing and knock it out. Go around the bearing until its out. Pull out the inside spacer and then repeat the process for the other bearing. Then wash the inside out with soap and water. Dry the spacer fast so it doesn't rust. Replace your first bearing. Then put that seal on. Now you can do the next step one of two ways, but its easier to do it this way for greasing purposes:
Add your grease around the inside of the axle carrier. Spread with your hands. Don't go light. Then, insert your spacer, make sure you grease the inside and outside of your spacer with grease. Then insert your next bearing. Before the bearing is all the way down, make sure your spacer is alligned in the center. Then insert your next seal. Make sure when you install the bearings you take a socket to the outer lip of the bearing and not the inner lip. The other way you can do the bearing carrier is after you have your first bearing installed and you greased the inside of your carrier. You can slide the carrier on, then grease the spacer and then inser the spacer onto your axle. Then insert the bearing and then the seal. Alot easier the other way though. Then if you want you can fill your grease fitting with more grease.
Cheapcycle normally takes I think about 7-14days to ship depending on where you live. Since you have the rear axle off anyway, you probably should replace the swingarm bearings since they also tend to go bad really easily.

Arent the rear wheel bearings the same as swing arm bearings? Im not seeing any other bearings other than the ones i took out...
************************************************** **************edit******************************** ******************************** oh sorry I did some research and answered my own question... lol
edit 2**************** Now that I correctly know where the swing arm is located lol. There isnt any play that I can get out of it. Think I should still replace them? I am going to go over and talk with the previous owner and see what he replaced when the chain came off on him. Hopefully he already did it. Then again if he did I wonder if I can trust his work, so far its been dog poop.
I've noticed a few rust spot on the rear axle, would it hurt to sand it down and paint it? As long as I keep it off the threads and connecting areas
edit 3**** oh yeah forgot to mention that when I took the wheel bearings out, they are way rusted and I figure pretty much junk, good thing I ordered those.
and when you had me test for play on the swingarm, because of my lack of knowledge, I was testing the play on the rear axle.
I've started to repaint items on the bike too because of the rust spots and the royal purple that the guy decided to paint everything. lol.

Sand it down and paint it. Make it look nice. Or you can take a wire wheel to it if you have one. Don't paint where the bearing carrier goes. You can also take a wire wheel to the bolt threads and the spindle threads also, but don't take sandpaper to them. The bearings might have been replaced them in the swingarm. Just to be sure you could take of the swingarm and see if the bearings are bad or not. While your at it, make sure the seals are good too. If they look fine, just add some grease and replace it.

Thanks man for the information you have been giving me, its been a BIG help to me. When I get some time, I am going to take some pictures to some whats going on so far and it might help someone else out later. Searching that big thread is quite the pain, and the information jumps around alot. Ill post back later, I wish the parts were here already.
