Sand and Dunes

Ha ha. JK, JK. Well the people i've seen on bikes (few and far between) at the dunes all have paddles. Not many are out there. They have much harder time getting around it appears.

Hands down you're gonna need a paddle tire on the rear. They been runnin dirt bikes through the deserts on the west coast for a very long time.

I have both an LTZ462 and a CRF450R and ride the SoCal dunes. Both have good and bad points. Paddles are better if you can camp at the base of a dune, but not if you have to ride at all to get there. I rarely use them for that main reason. A new sand-rated tire on a dirtbike works good enough.
