Default 86 lt250r occasional high idle

Hey guys, I just got my lt running last night and I had the Carb dialed in pretty well but it was a little sputtery at full throttle so I went down one size on the main and it didn't change at all but then after I put in the smaller main it would occassionally start to lean out at idle but all it did was go up a little in rpms then come right back down then after another 30 seconds or so it would do that again, I tried messing with the air mixture screw and it didn't Change, so then I changed back to the main I had in it at first but its still doing it. I sprayed wd-40 around the jug gasket and nothing changed. Any suggestions why it would do this??

O I forgot to mention that it was idling fine with the smaller main jet until it started running out of gas when it died I turned reserve on and was waiting for it to fill the bowl back up and I walked away and when I came back the bowl was overflowing so i shut the gas off then went to start it and it was flooded and then after about 10 minutes it started and its only been idling funny since then
