I have a 1998 suzuki ltf500f 4x4. It runs fine, starts fine and idles fine. The problem i am having is that it has no rpm increase after 1/2 throttle. I rebuilt the carb with a kit. I am a decent mechanic, i have been working on bikes and atvs for 20 years or so. The throttle on this atv is a diaphram operated slide. I dont know enough about this type to trouble shoot. Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks

 

I would take the carb off and start all over again. Make sure you have a every little the hole cleaned out. Check for vacuum leaks around the carb .
Thats were I would start and go from there.

 

yea im gonna go over it again. The only thingi am unfamiliar with is the diaphram operated throttle. everything else inside the carb is new except the float itself. thanks

 

Do you have it snorkeled? Is it stock or did you do anything to it ?

 

i just spent the last 2 hours on the carb. I found the problem............when i put the cover on the diaphram the diaphram came out of the groove a little bit on one side. It wasnt sealing on full vacuum so no top end. I just took it out and man does it fly. all kinds of speed and power. MY STUPID MISTAKE. Thanks for the help. TP
