Default suzuki ozark carb help

I will try to make a long story short as possible. 03 Ozark was not ridden when my son went to the Navy, trying to get running good for his return. It would not idle on its own, but would run well if you get past idle. So I took it to the local motorcycle shop (carb. cleaning quoted at $130 rebuild $180 if necessary) called 2 days later now cleaning carb is $330. So I picked up the Ozark and a ziplock bag with my carb in parts. they said the carb had already been cleaned and needed to be put together with new O rings.

Brought the quad home and put it together with new carb kit and started, idles great now but does not want to take any throttle. I have taken it back off and taken it completely apart, cleaning both times with the same results. Still idles great but will not run when giving gas. After it warms up it will take a little throttle and move around the yard with the choke on. I have tried to run the gas petcock in all three positions same results. Gas is new and runs through the hose if you disconnect it from carb. I feel it has to be dirt or gunk in the main jet but I have used 2 cans of carb cleaner spraying every passage I can find. Any help would be great. thank you

Are the parts in the ziplock bag the same parts that's supposed to be in it? Do you have a way to verify you have the correct parts?

to the best of my knowledge I have gotten all my parts back. I have a shop manual for the Ozark and everything went back together just right according to the manual. The only thing I noticed was the float height was way off, (originally the metal tab on the float had no bend to it) made adjustment to spec. but no help

That is what I keep thinking, I guess I will try cleaning 1 more time. I saw a post once and it said that you should soak carb in cleaner 24 hours, that the spray cleaner hardly ever works? What do you guys that know think?

I've never used the soak (not patient enough lol), but carb spray never works. The last carb I rebuilt I had to use very small drill bits (between #90 and #100) to clean the pilot. I thought I had it opened up enough since I had to use pliers to hold the bits and it seemed like it was drilling something hard, but then I noticed a 35 jet was bigger than my 37.5 jet I drilled! That corrosion is very hard indeed.

I don't know much about the ozark. Does it have a fuel pump? Is the petcock vacuum operated? Those are a couple things that could be checked since you said you tried the petcock in 3 positions. Does the tank have enough gas in it?

How does the spark plug look? Does it have a fat blue spark? You said it won't take throttle... is the plug black? Does it backfire? Are you sure the clip is on the right slot on the jet needle?

Sorry I am late posting back, to many things going on. It does not have a fuel pump, the pet **** is vacuum operated, I took the fuel line and the vacuum line off the carb and the slightest draw on the vacuum line and it started dumping gas in a coffee can. gas tank is half full with new gas.
i looked at the spark plug and the only black was on the threads, the electrode looked tan I guess. It did not backfire, just a little coughing through the carb as it was dying. I borrowed a buddy's carb dip and have it soaking now. Will put it back together and try again in a couple of days
Guys I really appreciate the replies and help

Update, I finally got back to the shop. Well I took the parts out of the carb dip, put everything back together, works great. I guess just using the spray did not work for me.
FYI, if you use the dip make sure to read the instructions. I got busy and did not pull the parts out for a couple of days, when I pulled them and rinsed in water I noticed it stripped the finish off the aluminum (I hope that will not come back to hurt me). The Ozark runs great though, I give it a test run last night. I forgot how much fun that little quad is, light weight and lots of pep for it's size. Just in time for my Son's return.
I would like to thank everyone for this informative site and all the help. The support gives me the ability to feel like I can do some of these DIY projects.
