hello i have a 88 suzuki and the left rear output shaft i guess is sposed to have a retaining ring so i ordered it now it wont go on and i have beat this thing silly almost at a loss or gonna look for a new motor or parts bike unless any body has any light on the subject .....im open to any suggestions

 

i guess the person before me rode this thing even when the retaining ring wore out and the shaft fell out half way and tore up the splines on the output shaft and in the u joint knuckle
