Default Is this a good deal?

Hey everyone,

I'm a total newbie when it comes to ATV's but I am looking for something to plow my driveway (not too long and flat), as well as my parents (up a hill and much larger). I don't want to spend a lot of money but I am also weary of getting stuck with a piece of junk and having to put money into it to fix it. Is this a good deal? I looked at it the other day and the price is down to $1600. It has 1800 miles on it. What kinds of things should I be looking for and/or making sure it has...auto reverse, 4x4 etc. Any and all suggestions are welcome and I appreciate the help!

Even though its in good shape, its old as heck. I dont know what the plow set up is worth, but I think $1600 is on the high side for something that old.

Nah that suzuki 250 4x4 is worth every bit of $1600. It looks in great condition. It has a 5 speed tranny with 3 ranges including superlow. Plus 2wd, 4wd, and 4wd locked diff. You won't find another quad like it except for its 300cc cousin... which is actually only 280cc. They have a very low center of gravity which is unmatched by any other quad. Parts are cheap and plentiful since they made them from 1987 to 2002. Plus, the piston, cam, and many other parts are the same as the 230 quadsport, which they made tons of. I wouldn't worry about the age as much as I would the condition. My friend has a 2010 700 mudpro that smokes like a tar wagon. Anyone can beat on anything and never change the oil, so age is almost irrelevant.

Yep, i'd beat down the price a wee bit on that. But they sure are tough as nails.
