I recently picked up a not running 230 dual range suzuki for $100. It wasent getting any fuel so I cleaned the carb and got it working, I checked for spark and its good, and it has pretty good compression. But it still wont start. Ive even tried a little shot of starting fluid but still nothing. Im starting to think there is somthing wrong inside the motor. Any ideas what it could be?
Heres a pic. Its a 1985 model with a 5 spd with reverse and HI/LO. I have the factory rack also. All lights still work to. It also has new swamp witch tires on the back.

 

You said pretty good compression? what was it? If you sprayed it an nothing...Then compression or spark....If compression 130 to 180 then thats what I would call good compression...Have you try new spark plug yet?

 

We put in a new plug and still nothin. We think it may have jumped time.

 

Probably needs a valve adjustment.

 

We tried adjusting the valves to, still nothing. Every now and then it will belch through the carb.

 

Well I got the engine off an tore apart. The rings are bad and the cylinder wall is scratched alittle. At this point I'm not sure what I'm going to do with it yet.
