2000 King Quad LT-F300FY
Hi all,
I just purchased a slightly used all original (no broken plastics, etc.) 2000 King Quad LT-F300FY. I'm pretty excited for it...because as a teen...I'd always wanted one. The 4x4 diff-lock and sub-gears is just wicked cool.
Oh...and believe me...pics will be coming shortly.
So...the tire size are:
Front: 24x8x11r
Rear: 24x10x12r
So...what are the best all around trail and farm AT type tire that will fit???
Is it possible to replace all wheels to 12"? I ask...because I do not want to bind the 4x4 system!
Thanks everyone! I am happy to be a Suzuki owner again. My first was a 2001 QuadRunner 500. Sold to my father-in-law...and he still owns it. Best atv he has ever owned. His words!

Thanks for the reply!
Yup...you caught it. Typo with the 24 rear...and should be the 25 rear!
So...based on your suggestion...I did a search at rockymtn atv...and found the Mudlite AT might be a good option.
Another tire that came up was the Kenda Bear Claw in the correct sizes. They also have GREAT reviews...as do the Mudlite AT's.
Question: Can a 24x9x11r fit up front without any mods? Is there space?
Thanks,
biz

You should be able to answer that question as well as me, but I think there would be enough space.
The reason I suggest the mudlite is not only about its tread, but its a really light tire. 300cc is not a lot of hp to waste on turning heavy tires. Also for that reason, I wouldn't want the wider tire.
I do like kenda tires in general as a good cheap tire, but I don't have experience with the bear claw. It could be an equal to the mudlite, I just can't say. I own the mudlite and when I popped it off the rim and felt how light it was, I knew it was a 5-star tire. It also has a rim guard so sticks and leaves won't get shoved in between the bead and rim. In my experience with tires, its hard to believe there are many tires on par with the mudlite.
I'm a big fan of light tires. I'll even go to such lengths as trimming lugs off to make tires lighter.
Here's some kendas I trimmed:
And some more:
I shaved off about 4lbs of lugs. That's 4ft-lbs of torque I don't need to have to accelerate.
Here's what happens with a dunlop stock tire:
Here are the mudlites on my kingquad:
I'd take reviews with a grain of salt. I don't think anyone will shell out good money and say their tires suck. I didn't buy my mudlites... they came with the quad, so I'm not biased lol.
I'd also take specs with a degree of suspiciousness. The Trac Star tires were supposed to be the lightest tire made. I bought a set and threw them on the scale only to find they weigh the same as my cheap kendas. I guess common sense says the weight is in the lugs when everything else is the same:

ITP Mud Lites AT
Weight is a big factor in the tires that I'll go with...absolutely! Thanks for mentioning it.
Right now...the nod is towards the ITP Mud Lite AT. They have the correct (exact) sizing for the LT-F300F King.
I do like the Kenda Bear claw...but the added 9" width up front might cause issues. It's just hard to say...

The extra width might be a little squishier for a softer ride. I doubt 1/2 inch on each side of the tire would cause clearance issues, but its just extra weight and rolling resistance to overcome.
My front wheels are off now doing a cv joint boot job, so I can weigh them and get back to you tomorrow if you want. I'm still amazed how light they are for their size. I also have a king with what appears to be stock tires I can weigh as well for comparison.
