Iam preparing to do, or have done, a top end overhaul on my 05 king quad 700. where are the best prices for standard piston kit? no performance, racing stuff, just a standard piston kit. I intend to send cylinder to Millenium so they can check, and replate if necessary. Got a labor price of 500.00 from local independent shop!! sounds a little high to me. that is head work included. (grind valves, replace seals, etc) Let me hear from you more experienced guys. tks to all.

 

When I needed a top end done, I go the piston and gaskets on ebay.

 

Find a local machine shop that specializes in motorcycles and go to them save on ship time and costs. There is a local shop that the bikers use they will know what to do and they are local.

Labor here is about 65.00 hr.

I don't think 500 is that bad. Piston alone is going to be $125+.
IMO, I'd stick with stock/pro-X/arts pistons.

 

Ahhh, i read he was shipping the head out or paying a shop to perform the entire operation start to finish.
No worries.
