2007 King Quad Battery Drain Solved?
#1
A newbe here - I searched and found some old topics regarding the '07 KQ battery drain and some solutions but never really saw that anyone fixed it. One of the final posts that I saw discussed taking the key out solved the issue. A new ECU was another possible fix and yet another possible fix was the grounding issue. But no one came back after discussing it (that I could find other than one person) and said "this fixed it"
I just purchased a 07 KQ with 424 miles on it from a friend that was his wife's quad that she hardly rode. He has the identical quad and both quads have had the battery draining issue since he purchased them new.
My question: Is there someone out there that had this problem and fixed it?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks papa hogg. I had seen that but had not seen that anyone had any luck with it. Mine is obviously past the 36 months old to get it for free so did not want to spend the $325 on a new ECU if it did not work or at least help.

i had the same problem, and tried everything.nothing worked, until i read a post on here i think it was by king ding. re; the factory using to small of guage wire from the regulator to the battery,i did that update and have not had a problem since with the battery going on 2 years. but it still will stall at idle if the fan kicks on or i try to use my lawn sprayer at idle
i will try to find the post with the update for ya

search king quad 700 battery issues. the wiring mod is in that discussion, that mod. solved my batt. issues. i would recomend it. check your voltage before and after the mod. you may be supprised.
