Default 1989 Suzuki lt250s leaking from overflow tube

My overflow tube on the 1989 suzuki lt250s keeps pouring fuel out of the end. is it supposed to leak some or at all. I have adjusted the float but any time i turn the fuel on and the bowl fills up thats when the fuel starts pouring out of the overflow tube. can anyone help

You either have a peice of crud stuck between the needle and seat or it's time to replace them. Might also check to see how high the float "floats" in gas.

Suppose everything works fine. Is the overflow tube supposed to leak fuel from the end if it is used

The reason it's called an "overflow" tube is because the float chamber is too full. You need to find out why.

I undrstand that. I adjusted the float and now it doesn't go into the overflow tube. I am trying to figure out if it needs replaced. So assuming fuel does go in there again, is it supposed to hold it in or let it leak out
