1987 LT250R Quadracer carb jetting?
#21
Problem is nobody else runs a VM38...most just run stock carb (TM34 slide). Stock carb jet is around 210-260...which doesn't help me. Did put in a 162.5 jet today and it seems to be running great, plug appears to burning right?????, but still has oil on the bottom plug ring...might be too rich on bottom end now but may be able to lean it out with air screw. Happy to see that since before it was nothing...too lean. Still poking around with the jets but I know I am def getting close.
If your just letting the thing run at idle without cleaning it out... then what your experiencing is normal... just an early stage at a fouled plug.

Alright...Final Verdict!!!
Took it out today for about 30mins, came back checked the plug, and got a nice mocha porcelain with a little bit of oil on the end of the plug threads. Just a little rich but since I am still breaking it in I will leave the 162.5 main jet in for now. Probably knock it down to 160 and call it perfect. Sure is nice to have my beast of a machine back. Thanks for the help guys!!!!!!!
