I am stumped on this one. Runs when you first get on it most the time then it will start bogging down and spit/sputter and try to die if you give it throttle. Sometimes will die and won't crank back up for a while. I recently rebuilt the carb and didn't help at all. Any ideas?? Maybe CDI but how can I tell?? Thx

 

I have tried running without the gas cap and have also made sure tank vent hose was not clogged. Replaced vent lines on carb. Also replaced fuel on/off valve on fuel tank. The motor will idle good but will try to die and cough back through the air box. Don't think it a carb issue b/c sometimes it runs fine.

 

I would check charging system sounds like could be over charging an heating up the cdi..The voltage regulator should regulate volts 13.1 to 14.3,,sometimes when voltage will spike ignition system an cause the cdi to break up an shut down then has to cool down..I have had several suz, and acrtic cat have bad voltage regulator do this..Just check out charging an report back here with us .Good Luck. Also make sure atv has an goodd battery on it..ignition system on these late model quad has to have good hot batt.
