i have a 92 quad runner 250 4wd i cleaned the carb in put new carb kit have jetted it up and still the exhaust glowes red right at the motor. any ideas. it runs beautiful start right away revs up and goes wide open perfectly. so i cant see it being lean. plus iv jetted it up. any ideas thanks.

 

I had this fault on a Kawasaki 300b, however it was not running well. It turned out to be a soft camshaft. Because the lobe was getting smaller it didn’t open the exhaust valve enough to expel all the gasses, and things just got hotter round the port. The valve clearance hadn’t grown as it was the cam rather than the follower that had worn, and it was still “standard” at the part you measure clearances.
