When you tear it down do it one step at a time. Take the cam out then spin the engine if it still binds up pull the head then spin the engine again. No sense in tearing it all the way down if you don't have to.

The wiring on it is trashed, something shorted out at some point a few of the connectors are even melted. So at some point ill need to find a wiring harnes for it, its a 2002, will any year ozark harness fit or do I have to stick with 02. I also read the ltz 250 is the same bike with different plastics so theoretically I could use a harness from that too right? But I do know it will run, I had it running for about 5 seconds last night then it hung up. So at least I know the electronics are good other than the harness.

Same wiring harness from 2002-2004. LTZ 250 does not use the same wiring harness.

Ok, so I took the cam out and I thought the binding and catching went away. I could pull the pullstart rope fairly easy, but it still was seizing up a little. So I pulled the head and then the cylinder, and the main bearing is deffinatly the problem it. Even with the cylinder removed I could barely spin it by hand. Only when I pulled on the rope would it budge. The crank is also very discolored and purple greenish from the heat build up. Do yall think its worth it to go ahead and rebuild it, or not? Ive only got 100 bucks in it and its in pretty good shape cosmeticly.

I think im going to go ahead and try rebuilding the bottom end. I have found a used crank and rod ready to install or I could just buy the rod and bearings. Would it be easier and better to just get the whole crank assembly that way I dont risk my crank that is in it being bad and messing up my new parts?
