Maybe your jets aren't big enough. The pilot jet probably isn't. Or maybe the metering rod (needle) needs to be richer.

Doesn't that seem like overkill? The jets are a tad bigger than stock and all I did was add a free-flowing pipe. The pilot was a 20 and I switched it to a 22.5. IMHO (and im a newbie) it seems like that would be proficient?

Carb tuning is an art.

I would adjust the needle clip and see how that does before buying more jets. That's in addition to playing with the pilot screw.

The pilot screw is the first thing I am going to mess with. I cannot remember what position its in (as far as screw turns) as I have messed with it so much over the last year.

It ran OK (sorta) with the cobra exhaust/stock jetting and just me screwing around with the pilot screw and the idle. So I cannot imagine putting in bigger jets would make it run worse.

I'll try tomorrow if I do not have to work over-time.

Something is wrong if you're messing with the pilot screw for a year. Move the needle clip down a notch and see what that does.

I meant that I did the adjusting a year ago.

I have two twin quads, we have been cycling them back and fourth over the years at my hunting cabin and back to my parents for storage. I ride MX these days. rt100, yz80, yz125, yz250, yz250F, and now a yz450F.

These quads are for friends

TBH I wish I had a bunch of these things, they are pretty easy to work on and parts are widely available...not to mention they aren't too fast to scare someone but quick enough for adults to have fun on.

I wish I had a quad that is cvt for friends to ride (since most friends who don't have quads also can't grasp the concept of gears) but a quad that isn't a giant honking bigass mini-jeep. You know, something small and nimble, but with cvt. I can't believe the manufacturers haven't thought of that... instead of spending their time designing something to look retarded in. To wit:
