Default Does the LT-F250 Ozark have a brake safety switch?

We have an 02 ozark 250. I am having trouble as it wont crank over. I replaced the starter relay with a brand new relay and checked the neutral saftey switch. Still wont turn over. The neutral light is on and i checked the neutral safety switch. All seems good. I can use pliers to jump the terminals on the relay and it cranks the starter.

The last time it was running, it was idling and stalled. It would not crank over but when we wiggled the rear brake, we could get it to crank but not start. You had to find the sweet spot on the brake lever to get it to crank. However, we never since owning it had to press a brake to start the ozark. You just had to press the button. I think it would even start in gear.

Anyway i checked electrical connections and even swapped out the handlebar switch and still no luck. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

If there is a brake safety switch, where is it located and can i override it or test this?

The answer is yes. The left brake lever is the parking brake. It has 2 wire sets running into it. The one on the side of the lever is for the tailight and the other which is under the lever goes into the brake safety switch. If the brake safety switch is broke, the quad wont start. However this part appears to be sold as the entire lever not on its own.

This has been my experience as well, on an 04. I bought it used though, so a previous owner may have bypassed it if present.
