Default 1987 LT230S - Replace seized 230 for 250?

I have a 1987 LT230S with a seized up engine and was wondering if anyone knew if a 250 could fit in? Perhaps with some light fabrication?

Thanks!

Are you talking the entire motor? From the 250s it should be a drop in, little if any fabrication involved. What is seized on yours? Could be a good time to rebuild. Cam, exhaust, and high comp piston and it should be more powerful than a stock 250 anyway.

The oil pump quit and the piston seized. Can't turn the motor over. Can a motor be rebuilt from this condition or would it be better to buy a different motor to overhaul and drop in?

If you can get parts, it can be rebuilt. A catastrophic failure where you have to replace the crank, valve train/head, jug, etc it may easily be more cost effective to buy a complete running motor. On the other hand, if you rebuild yours then you know the history, and have a like new motor vs another potential time bomb. Depends on how bad the damage is, how much of the work you can do yourself, and how much you want to spend.
