How do you keep the door closed? I'm guessing you kept the tolerances so tight that it fits so snug that it is a bit difficult to open and close, using friction to keep it closed.

Look at the picture that shows the open door. There is a simple brass slide lock. I reversed the **** so it protrudes through the door vs the way it was made would be on the inside. Its brass so it was easy to modify. The original **** was not long enough to go through the door so i made a custom stainless one out of a bolt. Minimal hole size in door and it works perfect. I just made a shallow hole in the bottom for the lock to catch.

Surprisingly the empty carrier is not heavy at all.
