Default LT250S/230S clutch arm install

Hey guys, so I got the engine together, and put the clutch cover back on... now I cannot put the clutch shaft in... Is there a trick to this, or do I have to take the cover back off? The Clymer manual doesn't specify how it should go in it seems...
Thank you,
Sebastian

Seems to me the clutch arm should have been mounted to the cover first. Then it would center it self on the "flat' area when you installed the cover. Only way I'd say you can install it after the cover is already on is to push it down, turn it to where it could get by the clutch pusher. You may not be able to install it this way without interference.

Yeah that's what I was thinking as well, I was hoping there was a trick to it or something...
When I took it out, the arm came off before the cover was taken off, which seemed weird to me as well.
I guess back to opening this thing up haha
