Default EBS clutch kit on 2000 Sportsman 335?

A friend has a 2000 Sportsman 335 that needs a new clutch. I have an old pair of EBS clutches for a Sportsman 500 he can have. Will they fit? If you replace one you have to replace the other one, right? What else will he need beside a different belt? Some kind of washers IIRC.

It'd work, but as you say a different belt than the 3211077 non ebs belt is needed. Getting the rear clutch aligned with with the front may just be as simple as adding washers behind the rear clutch. All he has to do is get a few washers the same size that's behind the rear clutch now. Main thing is that he maintains 10 inches from center of the drive and driven clutches mounting bolts. Whatever machine they came off with, just get the belt for it.

I knew there was something wrong with one of my old clutches but I didn't know what. I thought it was something minor that a parts swap could fix but I was wrong. There are cracks in the outer sheave of the front clutch and that's the part my friend needed. From my other friend's description his buttons are gone and it has deep grooves worn into it. All I know for sure is it was making a lot of noise last fall and we all thought it was the engine.

Then your friend might as well bite the bullet and get a new front clutch if the clutch towers are deeply grooved.Wouldn't be worth trying to rebuild it.I'd stay with the non ebs clutch as it's cheaper and his rear clutch ramp buttons can be easily replaced if needed. Niche makes an aftermarket drive clutch for $279. Still not cheap, but better than 450 bucks for an oem clutch.Polaris Sportsman 335 Primary Drive Clutch 1999 2000 | eBay

Thanks OPT. He's checking eBay for a complete non-EBS clutch. He might get lucky and find a good used one. I'm letting him know about that one anyway in case he wants a new one.
