Default Lt80 won't idle.

Got my lt80 out of storage to get it running to sell. Put oil and gas in started right up with choke on with choke off it dies. Rebuilt carb with same result, checked compression 120-125, checked for air leaks around carb and reed cage good. Placed carb back in burn out tank for 24hrs new rebuild kit didn't work. Any ideas?

If you give it a lil throttle does it keep running?
Is your throttle cable adjusted correct on top of the carb?

What Jack said...check the carb slide connection to the cable, make sure the cable is screwed onto the slide cover...

otherwise re-check that idle (pilot) jet...its got itty bitty tiny holes that like to clog...

Well since my first post I checked the cable ok at top. I took the carb to my friends shop and he ultra sonic cleaned it and it looks brand new. Put all new jets, o-rings and gaskets in it. Put it back on checked top again and still doing same thing. Run great with choke on and dies when you turn choke off. Air filter good pepcock seems to be working put a little vac on it and it opens up and flows gas. I can keep it go a bit at high end and then it falls off. This thing is getting the best of me. Help!!!!

As long as they are not cracked, the reeds are fine.
Providing the cable is adjusted properly, the choke circuit is faulty. The lil passageways can get blocked and cannot be cleaned.
If you cannot get it right, I'd recommend a ebay carb.

LT80 I don't think so, seems to run great with choke on. Strong air flow coming out of pipe when you put your hand over it. Even tried removing oil pump and pre-mixing 32:1 101 fuel. I can keep it running on high end but eventually it bogs out. 😡😡😬😬?? I'll sell it cheap. 😀👍
