Installing a fan for cooling...
#11
Hi i bought an oscilating fan for RVs the ones over the dash board for $9.99. I kinda put it together fast i just hooked it on with zip ties. So far its still fastened and works after i go through mud and water no problems have happened yet and i hope on planning to not have any. Only prob is grass and weeds after going through light high water get stuck in the fan cage and after a while i have to pull them out. But its no biggie. Mine is connected with an ON and OFF switch that it comes with i just turn it on after i feel like it needs it after a good hard run through a canal or i run it hard. Well goodluck on your project hope it works out.

Thanks again guys for the feed back. I did get the thing to work and I punished the fan with water. Clean, clear water! The mud is going to be a show stopper I'm sure. But at least I get to try it out this weekend. Bill, will be amazed how much faster my KQ goes when I turn on the fan... :0) ZOOOM!

I don't have my pilot's license yet so I won't be flying soon. But I'm going to use it the way it is this weekend. I beat up the speedo cover pretty good, trying to put the switch and light into it. Have to order another. I had some problems with them not fitting next to the handlebar, going through the speedo cover area. I need a really compact switch and light next time.

OK, the fan went through some heavy mud today and it survived the whole trip. Some holes were much deeper than I remember from last trip to Gladwin and I wanted to avoid the holes I didn't feel confidant about since I was riding alone. There were a lot of riders out today. I talked to two guys on King Quads, who asked me about the fan. They wanted to know how well does it work. I told 'em,"I don't know, forgot I had it". It's been weeks since I last did some riding and I was just pleased to be out. I rode ninteen miles and had the fan turned on the last six miles or so. Don't think I'll be in the market for another fan unless...?

Chuck,
sorry we missed you on the trailhead today.I got 1 voicemail from you as we were riding the trail.I stopped and listened to the message, but you never left me your cell phone number so I could call you back. That would have been nice,I could of let you know where we 9 riders were at.
On the way home from Gladwin on I-75,I got 2 more voice mails on my cell from you,one message, you did leave me your cell number,by than,we were allready headed home.We ran a total of 42 miles today.Someone has been messin with the trailhead signs and downing trees,we really got turned around there today. The DS 650 and Raptor were getting stuck the most today. What a mud fest,
Bill
