Anyone know the stock specs of the LT500R? I would like to know width, wheelbase, seat height, weight and stock engine horsepower.

Any info is appreciated.

an early Dirtwheels issue claimed 52HP. Pre-release machines were clocked at over 100MPH and were de-tuned before the public got their hands on them for liability reasons. The machines would do approx. 85 mph off the showroom floor. The cylinder heads were changed from a 6 bolt pattern in '87 to a 7 bolt pattern in '88 due to problems with blown head gaskets. The A-arms were also updated because of front end push between model years '87-'88. '87 had rectangular tubing and the '88's went to a round tube. A full mod 500's speed was not measured in mph. They had to use ballistic charts and formulas to calculate the "velocity" of these machines. (being sarcastic).

As for the 250's, if I'm not mistaken, the hp estimates were in the vicinity of 28-32 and top end would set you around 70mph.

ALL SPEC INFO IS AVAILIBLE IN THE SUZUKI LT500R SHOP MANUAL WHICH I HIGHLY RECOMMEND PICKING UP. IF YOU JUST WANT A SPEC SHEET FOR THE BIKE I HAVE COPIES OF THEM AND COULD FAX THEM TO YOU IF YOU NEED THEM. AS FOR SPEED THE ZILLA IS STILL THE FASTEST OFF THE FLOOR ATV EVER PRODUCED. THE BANSHEE AND RAPTOR GIVE MY STOCK ZILLA A GOOD RUN AND IF I MESS UP THEY CAN CATCH ME. BUT THERE IS NOTHING TO DATE THAT MATCHES THE RAW BEAST THAT WE ALL KNOW AND LOVE.
