as you can see I have a 99 scrambler 400 that beats banshees. but Im sick of having to fix and rebuild. 4 pistons in one year and 10 tanks of gas. great quad STOCK but dont add anything for power or it sucks. Iv seen a couple of quadracers and they look alittle bigger framed than the trx250r and banshee is it true? any problems with 250 or 500? Im looking for reliablty. how much diffrence in power. I see alot more 500 for sale around here. all your help would be great. If anybody knows of one for sale around northern IL let me know.
thanks

mine is for sale in northern IL, 1000 bucks. however i wouldn't recommend mine for racing. i think its gettin a little to weak for that. i think quadracers are really nice i especially like the 250's but i have heard them being fairly unreliable. mine has had a bunch of problems but mostley they were my fault. 3 frame cracks (welded back up by a professional welder) and the counterbalancer broke off. thats it. mine will still start on the 1st or second kick even when its cold. their a really nice bike i would reccomend one.

I have a 89 LT250R for sale it has been bored .60 over with a wiseco pro-light piston done about 3 weeks ago. all the ports were cleaned up. carbon-tech reeds brand new, fmf pipe and silencer, brand new K&N filter and outerwear, new graydon pro line nerf bars with new black nets, brand new rpm tappered bearing carrier, new brake pads all the way around, works dual rate front shocks brand new with shock wears, comes with 2 extra rear shocks one needs recharged, this motor has the power valve also, comes with brand new kenda dominator rear tires on Douglas .190, custon grooved radials up front on Douglas .190, comes with a extra set of front rims, new v-blade paddles on .160, comes with both front and rear stock tires that are almost brand new. only problem is thier is a crack on the back rear fender but I have welded it back together, This quad is very reliable, the stock bore lasted 11 years, frame has no cracks so thier is no weak spots, the 85-86 model years are terrible for cracking, comes with all stock parts also. asking $3500 OBO. or trade for Honda 250R can get you pics, email me at cdkostman@hersheytel.net or call 308-368-7805

If your bore and stroke are the same as mine, then .060" over will give you a displacement of 258.1cc. And if you go .100" over, then you get 265.9cc. Its basic math (pi*r^2*h and 1mm=.03937in).

Yeh I guess you are right. I figured it wrong, I am glad you said something. But still the quad is about twice as fast as it was stock. Has a lot more usable power. Thanks for the info

THE DIFERENCE IN 85-86 87-92 ARE- THE THE 85-86 HAVE THE REEDS IN THE BOTTOM OF THE CYLINDER WHICH MEANS YOU HAVE TO REMOVE THE CYLINDER TO INSPECT OR REPLACE THE REEDS PLUS YOU CAN'T INSTALL A RAD VAVLE. THE OTHER DIFFERENCE IS THE SWING ARM THE 85-86 HAD A CAM STYLE (WHICH I PREFER) CHAIN ADJUSTER. WHILE THE 87-92 HAS A BEEFIER BOX STYLE CHAIN ADJUSTER WITH 6 AKWARD BOLTS TO LOOSEN AND AILGEN. I HAVE HEARD OF SOME 85-86 SWINGARMS BREAKING EASILY, HOWEVER I OWNED ONE FOR TEN YEARS AND IT WAS MY TEEN YEARS AND I LITERLY TRASHED IT WITH NO BREAKAGE OF THE ARM OR THE FRAME(ABOUT THE ONLY THINGS I DIDN'T BREAK) BUT I USE FULL LENTGH SKID PLATES TO PROTECT AND REINFORCE. I USE LAGAERS SWING ARMS ON MY ZILLAS NOW. THE ONLY OTHER NOTICABLE DIFFERENCE IS THE T BONE SEAT ON THE 87-92 MODELS. I RUN THE 500'S BECAUSE OF IT'S SIZE AND POWER, IT IS BIG AND BAD AND STILL THE FASTEST OFF THE SHOW ROOM FLOOR TO DATE. SOME FIND IT AKWARD IN THE WOODS BUT I LOVE IT IN THE DUNES OR THE WOODS. I AM 6'1" AND 230 POUNDS THOUGH, SO CHOOSE ONE TO YOUR NEEDS. I BUILT A 2000 SCRAMBLER 400 FOR MY CRAZY A$$ SISTER WHO JUST HAD TO KEEP UP WITH THE GUYS ON THEIR CUSTOM WARRIORS AND THE NEW RAPTOR AND IT IS AWESOME WITH NO BROKEN ANYTHING IN A YEAR NOW, IT HAS 14 TO 1 COOL HEAD (ON 114 OCTANE LEADED GAS) PORTED POLISHED, FMF PIPE, V FORCE REEDS , UFO IN THE CARB, AND MY FAVORITE IS THE FRICTION FREE ROLLER CLUCTH. SHE IS PUTTING OUT 50-55 HORSES AND IS A ROCKET.

also the 87 reed cage is bigger than the 88-92.
the 87 sits all alone for reed cage size any reeds bought for it has to be for a 87.
