Default 2016 KingQuad 750 gear shifting

I have a 2016 kingquad 750, I recently had the entire front diff lock system replaced since it was not disengaging. And now I do not have to hold the back brake to shift from Neutral to High To Low to Reverse or vise versa. I called the shop and they said that's how it should be, but I could swear I had to before. Anyone know if they have to hold the brake when shifting into a gear or not? Thanks

No brake lock-outs for gear shifting on the 450 to 750 King Quads, unless it is something they have just started fitting. I drove a 500 last night and found myself holding the L hand brake lever when engaging reverse, why did I do it? Because I am so used to doing it on Hondas and Yams.

So, they are still having problems with the diff engagement electrics are they? Suzuki did change the whole mechanism about 5 years ago as early ones gave trouble. Looks like they haven't cured it.
