Default Bent footrest tube on kingquad

Hey folks, the metal footrest tube that has the integrated foot peg got bent by a rock and was causing my body panels not to line up. I took the good side off so I would know how it should look. I heated up the steel part where the bend was and used a piece of rebar inserted into the tube to help straighten it out. It helped a little but it’s not fixed. Do you have a better way? The part is steel, not aluminum, I believe . Below are two pics - the slightly bent one and the good one. Anyone else deal with this? And how did you bend the piece back rather than pay $108 for a new one? Thanks!!!
