Default 2002 lt 80 ground issues

This thing has a wierd grounding issue. It will only start if Im putting down pressure on the spark plug boot and standing on the ground. It I dont have ahold of it, I get nothing. Doesnt even turn over. Ive chased the grounds down and cleaned the areas up. This thing is driving me nuts.

You can try adding a extra frame to motor ground wire.
Also, Ya know, the stock spark plug caps are junk.

I guess so. The spark plug has nothing to do with starting.
I suspect you're right on a ground issue.
Try the extra ground wire. I go from the brake line (where it bolts to the frame) to one of the motor cover bolts.

so after several hours of chasing the problem, I broke down and bought a new wiring harness. That ended up being a big waste of money lol. any chance the starter can be grounding out? if I unplug the power to starter the relay clicks il I touch the frame with my hand. When I touch frame it does nothing

I just got this quad, so anything is possible. It fired right up when I bought it but has been down hill ever since lol. Besides the wiring harness, I also replaced the push button. I have not a clue what it could be. Ill keep researching.
