I purchased a 1989 LT250R and got it home and ran it to find that there was hardly any coolant in it (none in the radiator - I drained it and it was nothing but old/gas smelling coolant but not much). I, of course, topped it off with fresh coolant and tried to start it and found that there was coolant in the exhaust and on the spark plug, etc...I took the head off and the bolts were barely tightened and the head gasket was soaked and it seems it MAY just be a bad head gasket BUT if I'm already here I want to be sure its the head gasket. I have photos of it all to see if I could get some help in IDing if that's truly the issue. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
