Default Lt80 part swap options

Hi I'm sure these have been covered individually but I'm looking for more of a list. I bought a lt80 for my boy and he rode it 4 times now it's broke. Since I got the thing stripped down I'll be making a drive to a cycle salvage yard to get a few things. But what I'm looking for are parts from other quads/bikes as improvements. I'd like it to be 4 lug all around. If different hubs can be attached to the front and back that would be awesome. I'll be welding on new control mounts to widen it and I'm not interested in any long arm short arm conversions. The other thing I seen was that I'm really not fond of the Reed cage design or how the carb bolts up. Any different cages that I can use that use a standard manifold and clamp? I'm open to any ideas and suggestions. Ultimately this quad will get drag raced at a 500' dirt drag. I'm not building for that just yet but letting you know the direction I'm headed. I'm a race car fabricator by trade so I have no problem welding, grinding or even having pieces made via some CNC something. I just don't have thousands to spend is all lol.

Well I thought I would get some kind of hit on this. Anyways a couple of things I'm going to get is a kx60 reed cage. Visually it looks like it will work. Can't find any measurements. And I'm going to get a brake lever assembly off a blaster so I can move the parking brake up to the handle bars and I'm by passing the brake start switch.

Awesome. I'm splitting the cases but knowing it can work means that I won't just be wasting money.
thanks for the input.

Make sure the crank is straight.
Get ahold of me when you want to get into porting.

Will do. I haven't tossed my degree wheel on it because I'm not "building" the motor just yet. Got to get my boy used to running a quad first. But just looking at the port timings (eye balling) exhaust is way to low and there is so very little blow down. Looks like I'd have to run a base spacer and devcon the transfers and cut them down. I'd probably also spring for a custom made piston. For what it cost to have pistons made for our race cars I honestly can't see the reason for going off the shelf any more. Very little price difference. But that's going to be this winter's project. Priority right now is just to get this thing running again and get him to the point I don't have a throttle limited on it.

Oh really getting off topic now but I'm just curious because I read too damn much. Have you ever played with a programmable cdi? I run them on a few cars and seen msd makes a small engine one. ( Basically the same price as the automotive one) which is why I think I can't find too many people talking about them. But with a 2 stage limiter I could tune the clutch to let go at x rpm and have a button on the bars to hold it 200 rpm lower for a consistent launch every time. I'll have a lot of growing room with this as I can run 3 classes as my boy gets more experienced. Mini mini modified, 0-120cc amateur and 0-120 semi pro. And then I can start it all over again with my now 2 year old lol.

We can buy a PVL ignition for them (internal flywheel).
As far as your porting idea.. Let's just say no.. lol.

I figured I'd get a no on the porting idea lol. There's going to be some experimenting with this jug as time goes on. When he's 11 or 12 I'll be modifying for max high rpm HP that can only be used for drag racing and basically unusable to drive it around otherwise. I may be able to get my hands on a small engine Dyno too which will be awesome. At any rate I fully expect to just ruin a few jugs lol. I've already looked into expansion chamber software because it's in my wheel house to build that as well. (But ive never built one I just know how to weld good and I have a friend with a CNC water jet to cut the pieces)

Well, you are indeed going to learn a lot.
Something wrong with 13K rpm's that you feel the need to get more?
Once the exhaust raised, there is plenty of blow down.
