Hello, im new here, and new to quads in general. A few years back my dad bought an 86 lt230s, it ran, however it would blow out blue smoke. Since then it sat for around 2 years, and then again for another 5 and i started tearing it apart. I think my issue is piston rings, however im not completely sure. Help would be appreciated as well as a reliavle place to buy parts from, seeing as its an older model.

 

Blue smoke can be worn rings and worn or scored bores, it can also be valve seals, so check everything when you have the cylinder off. Some new parts are still available from Suzuki dealers. If rings etc, are not, the aftermarket suppliers may have them. If that fails, it is worth putting the part numbers into eBay as new old stock stuff is often listed there.
