I am looking for a lt500r engine complete with colling system and electronics, pipe not nessary. I am going to install it in a newly aquired 87' 250ex frame, ooh the power. Anywho I need to know if any of you know of a relible big bore kit for this beast. I have heard of a 600cc sparks racing, any experiece or info would be great. P.S. all this talk about rear wheel horse power what would be a projected hp rating on a 600cc piped jetted and carbed engine, just curious I can't wait to see the looks on the raptor guys faces. I reallt want to beat this guy that has a 25,000 dollar 426 yz in a 88 250r frame, he can't ride it anywho.

Darren Naccarato, (now deceased) of Nac's Racing tried that trick years ago on a TT racing bike he built. It was insane fast and I bet it would work good for anything but MX. The 250X frame needs the weld in upper shock mount relocation. I think ATV racing sells the kit still. This will allow you to use your 250R shocks and have a smooth ride as well. Get a 3" longer rear swingarm though since even a mildly tune LT500 motor puts out 60HP.

Sounds to me like you have your work really cut out for you!! Why such a small frame? And if you are talking about the 250EX...it is a shaft drive.

HE DID SAY 87 250 WHICH IS NOT THE NEW BIKE THAT HAS A SHAFT, IT IS ACTUALLY A 250X FRAME.

I'd just get the whole Quadzilla and use it. It'll crap all over that YZ. Try it.
