I jumped the wires as instructed on th KQ mod page, and it does start in gear, BUT the neutral light is always on.

Are the 95's different?

Double check your connections, I have a 95 my self and it worked just fine. By the looks , you might have connected the Blue wire to the yellow green. Thats just a guess by lookin at the wiring diagram.

My relay was located under the plastic behind the battery compartment. I DID splice the correct wires, and upon startup, the starterremained engaged.

So, by acident, I learned that unplugging the realy with the splice in place works for me! Not sure why but...

"Start in any gear", is one modification I'd like to make but have not. Eric Baatz, the information guru, caught me in a picture perfect reason to have that mod. I was going up hill in WV when the KQ just quit running on the way up. I locked the front brake and looked at Eric. He just smiled and said, "That mod would work now."

Hey DieselPro,
The neutral light was staying on on mine also.. I just installed a toggle switch, to arm it with, when I needed it.. The neutral light works as it should, and if anyone else rides it, I leave the switch off, so it won't start if they forget to put it in neutral.

DieselPro,
I got your email but Eric is the one that'll have to answer. I haven't made that exact mod on mine yet.

I made those mods on a 89 250 4X4, 93 300 4X4 & 00 500 4X4, in every case it worked perfect. The 500's plug is under the seat.
