I've still got my fenders covered with carpet! Yes, carpet... I've been looking at everyone on the trail to see what they've done, to replace those ugly tags on their quads. I only covered where the tags were placed. An area of about 4"x 6" in two places. But I also did th same on the other fenders because it looked cheap with that stuff on just one side. I still don't like it and I'm wondering what some of you did to replace your "EVIL SAFETY TAGS"...

Chuck,
actually, your small pieces of carpet dont really look all that bad, they seem to blend right in with the KQs natural color.I found some emblems that I like and placed them where I made the scratches at when I peeled off the stickers.Looks OK,
Bill

my friend ben made some custom ones for his 400EX. he popped out the little rivet things and made some new things out of lexan. one had a honda logo and the other oen said ride red. it was very cool. looked factory. he shaved his fenders now but it was cool when he had em.

Thanks, Bill. I still would like to find a more acceptable cover. I think I have an idea, I'll share it with you later. Not much trouble either, kind'a simple.
Robh, I don't think your tags are on like most. Mine were riveted on. And there's a recess where they were. So now I have to find a way to match the contour of the fenders.

Now the carpet comes off. I've purchased some plexi-glass and I'm planning on riveting back in the same holes left by the saftey tags. And I have an idea I think the grandkids will really love. Cartoons behind the glass...

Or make it so you can slide a trail map behind the plexiglass???? When the grandkids aren't around of course.

Map! Who needs a map? I never get lost...
Good idea, I will consider it when I'm working on this one...

Gosh Eric! Just trying to get into this new screen was tuff enough. I've got writers cramps in my eye lids! But this looks nice... Good job Beckstrom.
OK, I put the plexi-glass on the quad but I haven't tried it out yet. That is, I don't know how well they'll hold up yet. I couldn't think of a way to do what you suggested (Providing a trap for map behide the glass). It would either get water, dirt or both and I wanted to keep maps free of that stuff. Today, the plexi-glass is completely sealed, all the way around with cartoons inside. Key word! TODAY...
I think, Velcro and plastic bag will be the next choice for the map. What do you think? Or anybody else that may have an idea? When I get that scanner, I'll put some pictures in here so you can smile a little...
