cutting fenders
#2
I recently cut the fenders on my LT500. As a reference, I went to Tudorsperformance.com and clicked into "Quadzilla Born Again". Towards the end they describe the method they used to cut off the front fenders. The main tools they use are a coping saw and files (both flat and round). Some people use a jig saw but I was afraid it would be too easy to get quickly off track with that method.
After cutting and filing, I ended up using a drill with a grinding/sanding attachment on it to clean up the edges. The most important thing to keep in mind is that the slower you perform all these operations, the better the end result will be.

I used an electric jig saw and then a file to even out and smooth the cut. I first used a marker and made lines so when I cut it would be straight. You can see pictures of my fenders at http://www.quadracer.com/quads/90quadracer. Hope that helps.
