Hi. Im new hear so please bear with me. I have an 88 quadracer 250. The carb pisses gas when the petcock is on. I had an 85 quadracer that did the same. Is this common? What causing this? Also....are there any shops that deal with suzuki oem parts, that I can order online? Any help is greatly appretiated.

Its most likely your floats, take off your float bowl check for dirt and make sure the floats move freely, then fill up the float bowl with some gas to see if the floats are floating, hopefully this helps

Hey there just another idea
You may have to adjust the float so that the main valve shuts off before the fuel goes out the over flow you just bend the brass bit that contacts the needle hope this helps!!
p.s Let us know if any of this info helps!!

The float is the first thing to check but in most cases the float doesn't just get out of adjustment all of a sudden (unless you messed with it). The leak is probably happening because the needle and seat is worn. As the needle wears a bit it takes more weight (or upward pressure from the float) to close it up. You can probably adjust the float (bend it lower) to add a little more pressure to the needle/seat to shut off the flow of fuel. This also decreases the amount of fuel stored in the fuel bowl. This may not be a problem unless you ride at WOT all the time(silly question). Also check for some debris stuck between the needle and seat.

Got ahead a put a complete kit in it while you have it off. Be sure to soak it in some carb cleaning acid you can get at the auto parts store. Cleanup with this stuff is with water...don't get it on you!! Remove all the rubber seals first.

Good Luck,
Rob

If you have a Mikuni, then it is the Neddle & Seat causing your problem, it will cost you about $30.00 from a Suzuki dealer.
