Stock power of LT250R???
#2
Love250x, the stock hp varied year to year on the LT250r's, but i think it pretty much stayed around the 25hp range! I've seen a few guys Lt250r's on the internet with FMF Fatty and Silencer on them, but most guys say that the FMF just doesn't add that much power on a LT250R, most people like LRD Performance, Trinity Racing, Paul Turner, and CT Racing, im not sure which is the best but thats what the guys in this forum have told me before! Good Luck!!!!
Peace Out dude!!!!

The '87 and newer LT250R's put out 32 HP. As for the LT500R, that was rated at 52 HP in the '87 model and went to 55 HP in the '88 model when they changed the head configuration from 6 to 7 bolt. Not sure what else changed in there to bump the HP, but that alone wouldn't make a difference. They also changed the A-arms to a tubular design instead of the original rectangular design in '88.

I owned an Lt250r before i bought my Banshee,it was an 88 that i bought new in 1990.I piped it "PSI pipe it was" and there is no way in hell that it would make mid 30s hp with just a pipe, probably around 30 hp would be more realistic. And Mia get you bike dynoed and send me the charts, cause if your shop tells you, you are getting mid 30s hp with your 416ex then they must be the best engine builders in the whole world.I would gladly send them my Banshee engine...

Hey "Imbackformore". I thought mid 30's sounded kinda high for a 416EX too. I think mid to upper 30's is entirely POSSIBLE with a ported LT250R with an aftermarket reed cage, filter, carb and THEN maybe a pipe, but not just a stock motor with a pipe. To many people think that an aftermarket pipe is some miracle product to double their machines horsepower and then think they have the fastest thing in the world. 400EX guys brag that they have the same stock horsepower as a 250 two-stroke, maybe they do, I don't know. I do know though that it's a lot easier and cheaper once you start modifying your machine to get a lot more horsepower out of the LT250R than it is a 400EX. By that I mean give an engine builder both machines and give him $1,500 to spend on each motor and the two-stroke will then just blow away the poor 400EX. By the way "Imbackformore" does 55 stock ponies sound right for a quadzilla. I thought it sounded pretty close.
