So, who won? The 4X4 Recon or the two wheel drive Recon? No, don't tell me, I think it was the two wheel drive that won. Am I right? Of course I am... And why is that? Why is it we have to race to see if the quad is good enough to ride?
OK, I'm the slowest rider out there... Maybe!
Seems to me, the message should be, ride what you will and enjoy riding the areas you have available. Not buy the fastest machine you can afford! The message is lost somewhere, somehow, after the kids learn that the adults are looking for speed, not fun riding, in it's self...
I'm glad everybody had a good time, wish I had the chance to be there at Mounds but work was first this time. Gotta stop letting that job take over... Let me know when you guys are going back, in advance please...

Gee,
did I miss something?I dont EVER recall saying that one MUST race to see if a quad is good enough to ride?

While fun to YOU may be a casual trail ride with your not so fast ATV,fun to ANOTHER rider could be the fact that he/she is the fastest ATV out there.

Fun on an ATV is best described by each riders own personal wants and desires from that particular ATV.Neither a slow or fast moving ATV defines Fun,you see,fun is in the eye of the individule owner,AMEN!

Chuck,
Sorry it took so long to reply. I work at Iomega and the company just laid off 500 employees last Tues. I didn't get laid off and I'm in a new position. It's a big adjustment. I haven't felt like even turning my PC on.

Anyway, to conclude my gripe re: the exhaust....
I mounted it no my 250 QuadRunner 4x4 and rejetted from DJ096 to DJ104. DynoJet had recommended a DJ100. I wanted to run a little rich, which it does but not much. My experience with DynoJet is that their recommendations have been a little on the lean side. The machine pulls much stronger and gives new meaning to 5th gear. I had it up to 45 mph. I'm going to adjust the play out of the throttle so it will open more before it hits the limiter and see what she does.

I ordered another SuperTrapp for my KQ and it came the same way. It must be painted with some type of black paint or something on the inside. It was peeled too, just like the first one. So I never did end up calling Rocky Mtn. ATV.

But I wasn't kidding before about them screwing up my orders. They goofed on the jet kits and K&N filters I've ordered from them. When I did call them, the customer satisfaction person was real nice and fixed the problem. But it's a pain having to wait for the correct part.

If you recall, I ordered the Suzuki OEM cooling fan from my dealer for my 250 QuadRunner. It's still on backorder!!! Must be a hot item.
Oh well.

I've accepted that the IDS2 logo goes upside down. The second one came that way too. A mounting bracket is included and is mounted behind the hitch plate between the hitch plate and frame by using the top two bolts. The tab on the muffer fits against a drilled tab on the bracket. A bolt, washers, and nut secure it.

Both machines run much stronger now. I guess that's all that counts.

Yeah, I forgot about the bracket Mark. Sorry! But my tag is right side up... S/Trapp probably has a new employee who doesn't know the correct orientation for the tag before installing it. Glad you and I are happy with the results. I still have to work on the carb. The Dyno Jet Kit is still too rich. But I have so many things to do before winter sets in. Running rich is not a priority. It's just something I need to address.
Mark, I want to say, I'm sorry about the lay offs at your place of work. I've been thru a few on those myself when I felt like the victim. Those still working after others have been removed, often feel guilty, sad and lucky. Considering over 1,000,000 jobs have left the States, in less than a decade, some of us are truely lucky. I can imagine how being placed in another job, without warning, must have been for you. Many of the auto workers here in Michigan, have been let go too. Family's are devistated by companies that no longer want to do business here. Thanks to our government efforts with NAFTA, we will probably loose another 50,000 jobs by the end of 2001. That is my prediction, not something I have heard or read. Good luck on the new job...
