Geneology Question?

I've seen several posts that reference suzuki engine, parts, ??? used on Arctic Cats. I want to know "whos yer daddy"? Does the A-Cat use Suzuki stuff, or is A-C a branch of Suzuki? Is it Plymouth=Dodge relation? Several 01 Suzukis on year end sale. Lots of ***** and shift levers, do they get great reliability out of 'proven' technology? I'm looking for 4x4 out the door for $5000, and the dealer pushed me to the close out deals. thanks

I started riding on a new 1988 suz 4x4, had good luck w/it! trouble was w/me wanting a faster more powered machine. If i was to want a new 4x4 the suz. and AC 4x4's (500's) would be one that i look at for sure!!

I have heard it said that Suzuki has a 20% stake in AC, but I can't confirm that. You didn't say which Suzuki you looked at, but I will assume that it was the KQ. The overall reliability of the KQ is excellent, both from a mechanical function stand point and from a boneheaded manuever standpoint. A good case in point was when both ramps slipped when I was loading onto a friends trailer. The front wheels were on the trailer and the machine belly flopped onto the bed of the trailer with the rear wheels hanging off. The KQ has a heavy duty steel full length skid plate and no damage was done to the machine. I don't know if that would have been the case with my friends '01 Rancher, the undercarriage of that machine seems to be quite exposed. The best thing I could suggest would be to ride the both the Suzuki and the AC and decide which one you like better. A four wheeler isn't a good deal at any price if it doesn't do what you want it to do.
Just my 2 cents
