Cool Head for LT 500. Any opinions?

i am not sure what year zilla you have so i will tell you this first. If it is an 87 the only head you can get for it is the paulturner powerhead wich i have. it did make a difference in power and on the 87 the head likes to leak with the paul turner head that problem is cured.

What is your objective with the aftermarket head?
Is your 500 running too hot?
FYI - I had a Pro Design on one of my past 1987 LT500's, so they have made them.
I'll let you answer the above, then I'll respond. If you take a look at previous post/replies of mine you will see a focus on keeping the engine stock, run a pipe and Uni Filter, and spend the time and energy to jet it correctly. This will provide the best increase in power for the $. Next step is to focus on using all the power you have, rather than creating more power, and not being able to use it. To use all the power you currently have, focus on suspension and tires.
You can take advantage of the years and dollars the majority of us on the forum have invested in learning, or you can spend your own dollars, take your own time, and find the end results a good portion of us have come to realize.
These 500's can be bullet proof and ultra reliable, regardless of the year. All they need is to be set up correctly.

If No2stroke is talking about the 87, then he probably wants one for the same reason im considering one. The head gasket problem. Im assuming these cure it by running the dual o rings? If it creates a power increase then thats a bonus, but i was considering one to rid myself of the gasket problem. Is there any other solution to this problem? Ive also heard that increasing the head stud size can help?
Im like you superjetter....the zilla has heaps! of power already. i just wanna make mine more reliable and stronger. Ive already discovered that the previous owner of mine has already had some porting work done...so i cant help that..

Well said SuperJetter. If I were worried about the '87's supposed tendency to leak I'd rather get a copper gasket or just a good old torque wrench and forgo the expense of the cool head.
No2StrokeBs are you setting this thing up for drag or mx?
