Ok guys, I've done it, I crossed over to the other side and bought a ..............a (cough cough), honda! I got a deal I couldn't see passing up. It's an '87 TRX250R, ported and polished, Works triple rate shocks, AC bumper, grap bar, and nerfs, the motor is also polished to a mirror finish on the outside. It's alrady got Riken's and Turf Ramers on .190's. Tag handlebars, and on and on. The plastic is busted to heck and it has a crack in the case (very fixable though) by the clutch rod. I picked it up for $1,900. It runs AWESOME. Pretty quick too. Nothing like the Zilla, but definently not bad. Don't worry fellas, the ole Zilla isn't going anywhere. I now have both of what I feel are the two greatest quads ever made. Life is good. Now I have a project to work on, which is also cool. Anyone know a cheap place to get that nasty maier plastic? I know it sucks but we can't have a Honda looking to nice now can we? Later fellas!

Zillaman

Congratulations on your purchase. The cheapest place I found the Maier fenders for my zilla was rockymountainatv.com. Good luck man!

For what its worth, I do not like the Maier stuff at all. You already mentioned why you were getting it though, so I don't need to tell you that it looks bad; you already know.

The cheapest place for maier plastic is finding it used in some classified secion. Put a post on the classifieds here looking for it and you will have some within a week for cheap! Just be sure to get pics, I got a set of black that I was told was like brand new, without pics, and it came scratched to hell.

Also, congrats on the buy, the 250r is great, and you got an AWESOME price with the mods and such. Its even hard to find junked R's for 1900 bucks now days.

Full Bore Plastic is VERY nice. But it cost's more than double the price of Maier. I want this R to be just a fun trail and MX quad with minimal $$$ invested into it. I don't really care about the finish on the plastic, just that it is not all busted to heck. If I was building a quad that I was really concerned with the appearance on, I would not even consider Maier. But for this quad it will be fine. Thanks fellas.

Do any of you guys know whether suzuki do any other colours for the standard plastics for the Zilla? Im looking for either white with blue hood, or silver with black hood. thanks.

I'm pretty sure all you can get from Suzuki is the yellow and blue.....I myself may go with black fenders and a yellow hood/seat to match the freshly painted yellow frame, but I'm not 101% sure yet. Plus everything else is silver(steering stem, footpegs, A-arms), but I could repaint them a nice glossy black, but who knows.....
