wussup y'all? I have an 86 quadracer with only a few mods and no engine. I bought it on july 8th 2001 and I have painted some parts, sanded the body, and just pretty much cleaned it up. I have parts of the engine, (cylinder, block, most of tranny i think) I want to put an RM engine in it, Rman500 says it will shake itself apart, yeah, it might, but i'm not worried at all. I can fab up some new frame sections with some rubber mounts and fill the tubes up with insulation foam. I'm not afraid of vibration without all of this anyways, I can live with it, I've seen the CR 500 quads around and they ain't complaining. As for why this engine, it's easy to get, and I get a small power gain. Sure, an RM or CR 500 engine would be plain ol' AWESOME, but It's gonna cost me.

I think it would hold together if you modified the frame the way you said. make certain you get an 88 or up RM motor as they have the real power valve that moves the exhaust port up and down 5 mm, as oppossed to the 86 - 87 that has the LT power valve that only changes the volumetric efficiencie of the pipe.
