Has anyone heard, or what do you guys think the price of the new Suzuki will be? I would have to say at least $5999, but no more than $6499. Just a guess.

I don't think it's been announced yet because not one site, including Suzuki's own site, has a price. Haven't seen an official date it will hit showroom floors either but have heard April several times. It's a 2003 so won't be anytime soon.

$6000+??? If that is the case, I dont see many people running out to get them. To many if's, and's or but's, not to mention, they should have increased the displacement if they wanted it to be a major seller. Sure Suzuki basically invented the quad and had a good run for a while but those things were pretty cheesy and easy to fudge up too. Lets look at who will buy the Z400... Honda 400EX owners wont... 300EX owners will opt for the 400EX or the next Honda quad. Kawasaki guys will surely buy the next Kawa sport quad due out in 2003 which by most accunts should be the next Raptor/DS Bomb killer to compete with the unproven Cannondale. Let's face it, Honda is known to reliable but Kawasaki is know for "kick people's teeth in" type performance when they focus. Yamaha guy's are a bit brain-washed and surely wont make the switch to Suki. So what are you left with? Owners of E-ton's, Yerf Dog's, Kasea's? Maybe... But my 9 yr. old boy has an LT80 and he loves it. So maybe there is the future purchasers of the Z400... But again, only if it is under $5500 retail.

Yep, the manufacturers are surely negotiating salaries with him now. HaHa

Seriously though....I would conservatively assume the new Z will cost more than a 400ex and less than a Raptor. And that will be a deal!!!

Maybe someone who owns a 400EX would like something a little less low tech than an air cooled
27HP woods quad without reverse and upgrade to the Z400. They may also get those thousands of riders that are fathfull to their current Quadracers, but would like to be able to push a button on the handlebars to start it.

Just my opinion

Ouch!

"Low Tech... High Tech..." doesnt matter. How will the quad handle and how reliable will it be. You as well as every other quad rider knows that Honda has set the standard for a perfectly geometically designed quad and everyone is trying to to come close. Yamaha didnt do it. Cannondale didnt do it. The Bomb isnt it. But come to think of it, the Z400 does look a bit familiar. Again, I get a major kick out of guys comparing quads by their speed. The good riders are more concerned with handling. That is why Honda isnt very pressed to beef up a quad.
