Today I brushed the frame with a wire brush thing for a grinder, it worked great. all nice and shiny now and ready for the flux core wire feed...

I wonder what color i should paint the frame?

Gloss black yellow or clear-coated brushed metal?

Oh, and I'm adding a cross-member between the two bottom engine mounts... that should noticably reduce the vibes and add frame integrity. I think I'll locate some other areas that could use cross-members.

The parts being re-welded are those sheetmetal joints that have not been welded completely. After a few of those are re-welded it should look and work a bit better.

Its only half-welded for a reason....vibration will crack a solid weld, but if the weld trails out its kinda like "stress relieving"...

yeah, I think I'll just add some crossmembers now. Today I finished stripping the paint off and painted the back half gloss black. After I get the engine I'll do the middle and then do the front. It looks Sweet!

Thats a lot of spray paint there. You might want to consider putting a clear coat on it though. That way the paint has some protection. I've found that just regular spray paint comes off if you use any type of cleaner on it too. Just some thought. If ya can post us some pics and let us knwo how it turns out.

save you time and get it powderocoated. Local places around me cost $100+ to powdercoast a frame. I have several bike powdercoated . They still look new after 6 years. I will never use krylon again. It just chips to easy.
