After LT 80..what next?
#2
I live in everett washington and we have a local eight series flattrack races going on on saturday nights and in the 80 class there are 3 lt 80's that have had RM 80 motors installed in them. They are doing real well against the competition and there is also a trx 90 with a cr motor in it and the suzukis are faster lighter and seem to handle better.
I have looked closely at all of these quads and all of the engine swaps are relativly easy.
The honda just added diffrent motor mounts and a diffrent rear swingarm to accomodate a go-cart disc brake for the rear and a go-cart rear axle.
The suzuki has one extra bracket welded on the rear downtube for the rear motor mount and made two new front bolt on brackets for the front motor mount. and they used a rm 80 rear swingarm that has been modified to accept also a go-cart rear axle and then used a trx250r front caliper and disc for the rear brake.
All of the conversions are very nice and clean looking and all of the people who own then say it is not hard at all. hope this helps.
