I just bought my first quad. 2001 Quadrunner 500, 234 miles got it for 4000.00. Mt question is the title shows that it has 29 hp. is that true, I thought it would be more.I've talked to different people with 500's , they say they can get 55mph or better with there's. Tried my an only got 47 mph, is there something wrong with mine, or are they just blowing smoke.

I've had my 2001 Quadrunner 500 for about 2 months now and it has 100 miles on it.I've only had mine to 35mph being new and all,plus I mostly ride on tight trails through the woods. It seems to me like the gearing is what holds the 500 back on the top end. 47mph sounds pretty good for a utility quad.
PS: My title also shows 29hp.
