I need help, I was wondering if anyone could tell me why I have oil in my stator side of the crankcase. I have a 1988 LT250r. The oil does not smell like gas but it smells like the gear oil. Also the stator has recently been acting up and not lighting up the lights very bright. Is my stator being affected by this oil? Any help would be great.

i would get the crankcase pressure tested, check the ohms resistance on the lighting coil, maybe the windings are shorted out.
